This year’s E3 is a big one, for one reason: new consoles. With all three of the big gaming companies pushing their new entertainment systems on the world, a lot of rumors and false information are being tossed around. Here are the facts on Sony’s upcoming platform, the PlayStation 3.
The heart of the PlayStation 3 is its Cell processor, which Sony promises gives the console 35 times the power of its predecessor, the PlayStation 2. The primary game medium will be Blu-Ray storage devices, which hold significantly more data than a DVD. Despite this, the PlayStation 3 will be backwards compatible with both PlayStation 2 and PlayStation titles. The controllers will be wireless, using Bluetooth wireless connectivity; seven receivers will be present in the system. The receivers will not only allow for single-platform multiplayer, but also for linking multiple systems. Sony’s handheld system, the PSP, will also take advantage of this wireless connectivity, allowing the handheld to act as a controller or second screen, much in the way Nintendo’s GameBoy Advance can be connected to the GameCube console. The PlayStation 3 will be able to display on multiple screens, utilizing one or the other for multiple purposes both in-game and on-line. The system will support the sharpest style of HDTV, 1080p. On-line connectivity and the ability to access digital audio, video, and photography mean that the PlayStation 3 will begin to bridge the gap between consoles and PCs. The console will include a built-in gigabyte Ethernet port, handling both 802.11b and 802.11g wireless Internet access.
Several tech demos have been made available to the public, most notably to Final Fantasy fans a short remake of the opening of Final Fantasy VII rendered with the PlayStation 3’s more-powerful processors. The video, along with others, can be found at GameTrailers.com.
Sony claims the PlayStation 3 will be available in roughly one year’s time, Spring 2006. Whether it will appear first in Japan, like its two predecessors, is unknown.

mario takes new york!
The first Nintendo World store at New York City's Rockefeller Center opened with a large public party Saturday. The store is the first of its kind in the world, there are some exclusives, such as a gold-plated Game Boy Advance SP signed by legendary Nintendo game author, Shigeru Miyamoto.

Its two stories have a sleek, modern appearance, with lots of white and silvery hues. Besides containing plenty of gaming areas on both floors, there are tables for Pokémon card games by the first-floor stairs(Dork squad area).Upstairs, glass cases sit filled with "historic" Nintendo artifacts like an original Game Boy almost melted in combat but, as the glowing screen attests, still able to play cartridges. Bob Stoik, director of merchandising for Nintendo's North American operations, said 2,000 to 3,000 visitors were expected for the grand opening, but 4,000 to 5,000 showed up.
If ever in the big apple, I would certaintly stop by and visit!

dashboard leaves macs vulnerable
to continue in my computer nerd spirit, check out this article from wired news. I personally think the only reason macs can claim the whole "no viruses" thing is because the guys that make viruses wont work on something that wont reach many computers. They target where they can cause most damage. Perhaps thats going to change for mac though.

who wants a greasy big mac?
Who cares about a computer that you order fries with (aka Big MAC)? 90% of the computer industry uses PCs as well as 90% of software is written for PCs and Windows. If you want to limit yourself with a lack of performance and software selection then by all means go ahead and buy a Mac. Just about everywhere you go sells PC software and maybe if you are lucky a tiny section of Mac software. Of course the software you do find for Macs is usually more expensive than the PC software. While PCs have the backing of some of the biggest companies on the planet; Macs struggle along with their tough ardent cult of supporters.
Apple's pricing scheme is outrageous. I could get a PC that's nearly twice as fast as an iMac for half the price. This, my friend, is why Apple owns less than 5% of the computing market. When it comes to software compatibility (especially games), the PC wins, no questions asked. Very few games are compatible with Macs; just ask any hardcore computer nerd.
If your dog eats your hard drive, or you spill beer on your computer and it some how leaks down and soaks your motherboard, it's gonna take a while to get that fixed if you're a Mac user, unless the Apple store is in your backyard. First, you have to find out the 200-letter name of the part you're missing, call Apple, order the part, and then wait a month for the parts to be delivered. Your computer sits in the corner, useless the entire time and gathering dust. Then, when the piece finally arrives (if it didn't break during shipping), you have to find out where the piece goes, and then struggle for hours trying to get the piece to fit. If you're a PC user and this happens, all you have to do is take your machine to the nearest computer shop.
Perhaps Macs they are meant for the mentally challenged as demonstrated by their recent ad campaign of people who can't handle the simple tasks (such as turning the computer on). The only reason Macs are still around is because Bill Gates invested in them so they wouldn't go under. If you don't believe it, do some checking.
All in all I will keep my PC. Parts and repair shops are abundant, I know it inside and out, and it is almost the industry standard.
Will I ever go over to a Mac? Probably not, it would take a lot of convincing, more software and repair accessability...Im just waiting for Linux to knock mac down to third...

stewie vs. the brain
So Im in my Family Guy obsession period...in case you are wondering. The other day I was watching tv and I realized how similar these characters are...haha..Do you guys see any resemblance? In a fight, who do you think would win? The Brain does have Pinky to help him out, but is that an advantage or disadvantage? I think The Brain would just be happy with publically humiliating Stewie, but I think Stewie would be out for blood...
Stewie: a talking baby bent on world domination and matricide, and the Brain: a talking lab mouse who also has the goal to take over the world...
:::::::Stewie:::::::
1)
Stewie: "Damn you, vile woman! You've impeded my work since the day I escaped from your wretched womb."
Blast you and your estrogenical tyranny!
2)
Lois: Oh, I haven't been on a college campus in years. Everything seems so different.
Stewie: Really? Perhaps if you laid on your back with your ankels behind your ears that would ring a few bells.
3)
Meg: Everybody! Guess what I am?
Stewie: Hm, the end result of a drunken back-seat grope-fest and a broken prophylactic?
::::::The Brain::::::
1)
Brain: It proved that radio was a powerful tool.
And now, Pinky, the advance of technology has
brought us an even more powerful tool. Do
you know what that is?
Pinky: Ummm... the rubber band?
Brain: The Workings of you mind are a mystery to me Pinky.
2)
Brain: Promise me something, Pinky. Never breed.
Pinky: I'll try.
3)
Pinky: Gee, Brain, what do you want to do tonight?
Brain: The same thing we do every night, Pinky.
Try to take over the world!

have you guys seen this? how gay:)...
My friend sent me this episode of The Simpsons to watch--it's quite funny! I have to say that I think they're kind of running on fumes for many of their little jokes, but overall, it was a nice episode. *Thumbs up* to the residents of Springfield! Even if you were only in it for the money! ;)

ever wonder?...
How come French fries are not considered vegetables, since they are just deep fried potatoes?
Can you still say "Put it where the sun don't shine " on a nude beach?
Do Jewish vampires avoid crosses or Stars of David?
Why is it that when adults have multiple personalities it's schizophrenia, but when a child has imaginary friends it's cute?
If you swallow a burp does it turn into a fart?
Can you put a gay man in a straight jacket?
Do they have burglar alarms at Christian bookstores?
Why do bullies always ask "what’s your problem" when they're obviously not going to solve it?
Do stairs go up or down?
Isn't Disney World just a people trap operated by a mouse?
If electricity comes from electrons, does morality come from morons?
Do illiterate people get the full effect of Alphabet soup?

tax brain washing
I am really dense sometimes. I was sitting here watching The Nanny and wondering, "Gee, Lifetime usually shows the episodes in order, why are they showing the episode where Fran gets audited today?" It wasn't until halfway through the Golden Girls episode where Dorothy gets audited that I realized, "Hey, maybe Lifetime's going with a tax day theme." Duh. At least I wasn't surprised when Blanche got audited. I hope that never happens to me.....
"Miss B., what are these deductions for gifts sent to someone named Bubba?"
"I can explain that..."
"And I've never heard of this disability- blogging addiction, what's a blog anyway?"
"Oh, they are really cool, you want to see mine?"
"No. Let's just get on with the audit."
"Yes sir, I am happy for you to audit me." (ask me where that quote REALLY came from sometime).
"Now, I see you work at Bath and Body Works?"
"Yes sir."
"Uh-huh. Yet you apparently have allergies, how can you stand to work there? And isn't it true you ended up in the E.R.? While you were at work?"
"Well, yes, Mr. Auditer, sir..."
"SILENCE! Did I say you could speak?"
"Well, no sir, but as you will notice in line 10.C., I also suffer from an inability to shut up."
"Well, that I believe."
"Thank you sir."
"SILENCE!"
"Now, what's this deduction about?"
"Miss B., I asked you a question."
"ANSWER the question!"
"But you told me to shut up."
"Well, now I'm telling you to talk!"
"Yes sir. You see this deduction is for..."
"Shut it!"
"Yes sir."
"You know what? You annoy me. You're going down."
"But, why?"
"Because I can."
"Nooooo! Somebody rescue me. Somebody. Anybody?"
Collective laughter.
"Don't leave me here like this! Guys? Help me! Guys?"
Silence.

the pope
Yesterday I was hanging out with Mikey eating at Souplantation...yeah 'cause Im on a diet to impress Olga- A Russian red party lover who hates the fall of the wall and runs the night audit at the hotel. As I was eating my salad Mikey says to me: "I just realized that right now I'm off the hook for everything morally until there's a new Pope."...then he said "I think I should throw a Pope-n-Hoe party." I mean....what the fuck Mikey?..that fool just fucks with my brain man...

entry numero uno
Hey... I suppose I have to write in this thing quite often. .
The other day at work we got a ridiculous memo from our front office manager. As some of you know, I work at the Best Western 7 Seas in Hotel Circle. The Memo blabbed some nonsense about the driver's commission, referring all tour inquiries to them, and not booking tours. As part of the front desk it is inevitable to have guests ask and want to book tours or rent cars through us. We sell boarding passes for Trolley Tours, Harbor Tours, and arrange for tours of San Diego, Rosarito, and Ensenada. If the driver isn’t there, as the memo mentions, we are to tell the guest to come back when the driver happens to be there, and send them off.
